Unnati Foundation was not born out of a boardroom plan. It was born in the fields—amid rows of Yacon crops, under the sun-kissed skies of Sikkim, where our founding members first began their journey in crop management. What started as a mission to improve agricultural productivity soon transformed into something much larger: a movement to uplift entire communities.
As our work in Yacon cultivation continued—creating value, generating income, and fostering pride among local farmers—we began to see the untapped potential nestled within the hills and valleys of the North-east. Entrepreneurial spirit was everywhere—in the hands that tilled the soil, in the minds that dreamt of something more, and in the youth that longed for knowledge and innovation.
That’s when Unnati Foundation was officially born.
Empowering ideas, building futures, supporting businesses to achieve scale and success with our tailored solutions. This belief lies at the heart of everything we do. We stand beside aspiring entrepreneurs, community leaders, and grassroots innovators, offering them the tools, knowledge, and mentorship they need to build ventures that matter.
Since our inception, Unnati Foundation has helped individuals and groups turn their ideas into tangible enterprises. These include small-scale manufacturers, rural service providers, agricultural innovators, craft-based entrepreneurs, and youth-led ventures. Many of these businesses have not only generated livelihoods but have become sources of local pride and inspiration.
Our initiatives have helped reduce rural-to-urban migration, encouraged local employment, promoted women’s entrepreneurship, and fostered social leadership in underserved communities.
While our roots lie in agriculture, our vision has grown.
We’ve expanded from helping set up regenerative agri-ventures to supporting education-driven innovation. In 2024, we proudly partnered with BotLab Dynamics to curate and lead the Sikkim State Day Drone Show, celebrating 50 years of statehood with both wonder and wisdom. The event wasn’t just about entertainment—it became a platform for hands-on drone workshops, sparking curiosity and ambition among hundreds of local students.
